What is the Mount Hermon Annual Fund?
The Mount Hermon Fund encourages individuals to get involved, by providing an opportunity to give their time and/or resources to Mount Hermon. This includes the main Conference Center, as well as, Redwood Camp and Ponderosa Lodge. It focuses primarily on annual Special Projects and Cabin Renewal Projects. Some of the most significant contributions to Mount Hermon are made through the continued relationships and prayer of those who support the mission of Mount Hermon.
Why should I support the Mount Hermon Annual Fund?
For over 100 years Mount Hermon has labored to proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and teach life-changing principles from the scriptures. With continued gifts and support, Mount Hermon aims to broaden and deepen our impact as we continue to make a difference in lives for Jesus Christ. As good stewards preparing for our second century, we must provide facilities that both enhance and ensure this ministry for years to come. By supporting Mount Hermon, you can enable a new generation of children, teens, families, and singles experience the ongoing ministry of the main Conference Center, Redwood Camp and Ponderosa Lodge.
What does the Mount Hermon Annual Fund accomplish?
After deferring many maintenance needs on cabins and lodging units during the late 1980's and early 1990's, we have been playing "catch-up" on many housing units since 1997. Our hotel units and cabins are used extensively year round and are in need of attention. On top of all that, Ponderosa Lodge is almost 40 years old with many facility maintenace issues that we must address. In a way, these are nice problems to have. All three sites, Redwood Camp, Ponderosa Lodge and the Conference Center are now used year-round as we continue to impact lives for Jesus Christ. This fund helps us deal with a myriad of maintenance issues that take the "speed bumps" out of our ministry.
Some people would say this fund is "where the rubber meets the road." Rebuilding and remodeling cabins and hotel units, miles of roads and trails to maintain, recreation zones to upgrade and keep safe, meeting areas like the dining commons, auditorium, administration building, Central Lounge and a host of other arenas of ministry are vital in allowing us to help people focus on Christ. Every person who contributes to the Mount Hermon Fund is a part of God's financial plan for His ministries here at Mount Hermon. People have been part of this plan for more than nine decades. The legacy they have left is exciting for us as together we impact souls for Jesus Christ by repairing and rebuilding the various Mount Hermon arenas of ministry.
