The Mount Hermon Crafters Retreat celebrates its fifth anniversary with a dazzling array of fun and creative crafting workshops designed to inspire and encourage women who enjoy fellowship with old and new friends while working with their hands. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the setting is perfect for inviting someone with whom you are eager to share Christ’s love. Teens age 14 and up are welcome, and many sister-sister, mother-daughter, grandmother-granddaughter teams as well as groups of friends and church women make this an annual event, treasuring the chance to learn or enhance an art form while enjoying Christ-centered time together. Workshops Windows into decorative Crafting ![]() Carol offers an introduction to creative painting, glass painting, pressed flower candles, cottage wreaths and more for those new to crafting or interested in home décor arts. This class is popular with teen crafters and others who wish to try a variety of crafting techniques. ![]() Judith shares this age-old Russian process of egg decoration using bees wax and an ancient tool called a Kistka. Traditional design techniques and the meanings of the symbols and colors will be taught. Step-by-step instruction will be given for at least 3 eggs. Bright colored dyes are used, so bring an apron or old shirt to protect clothing. All other materials will be provided. Piq’assiette (chipped china art) ![]() Terry teaches all levels of this unique and deeply satisfying mosaic art form. The more advanced or adventurous piq’assietters are encouraged to bring a bowling ball, which we will transform into spectacular garden art. Dishes are provided, or you may bring those special to you to include in your projects. Please wear clothes that can get dirty with closed-toed shoes and bring a long apron and safety glasses. ![]() Tina offers this popular art for all levels. Along with offering many inspiring ideas and creative options, we will teach the skills involved in using die-cuts, punches, stencils, embossing and embellishments. You will need an album, extra pages, scissors, adhesive, photos and memorabilia, stickers and acid-free pens. We offer extra items for purchase if you prefer. Bring what you have been working on or just come and get started. ![]() Kathy and friends will use the Attic Window Quilt as their template for this workshop designed for the advanced-beginner/intermediate level seamstress. Supply Lists We hope to have detailed supply lists available here before the conference takes place to assist you in your preparations. |
