A great introduction to the
world of camping!

A classic summer camp that is anything but ordinary. While Primary and Junior programs run simultaneously, they are two unique programs with separate schedules and curriculum designed for each age group.

  • Primary

    Entering 2–3rd grades

  • Junior

    Entering 4–6th grades

Primary weeks are perfect for our 1st time adventurers. It’s full of a customized experience for our young campers. Primary weeks host a smaller group of campers in the program and the camper to counselor ration is only five to one so that campers get maximum care. It includes high adventures such as flying squirrel, zipline, cargo net, and unique to just our primary campers a trip to our Discovery Grove (a high element ropes course)! A cookout, fun in the tree house, hikes, crafts, and of course pool time add to the fun. At Victory Circle the group enjoys singing and hilarious skits, meaningful dramas, campfires, s’mores and sharing times. Here amongst the redwoods God works to transform and intersect these young lives!

Redwood Camp allows small groups of campers to enjoy a variety of counselor-led activities. Nature hikes, arts and crafts, the treehouse, cabin challenges, and target sports like archery and BB guns are part of the adventure for all campers. Everyone gets wet too! A swimming pool with curvy slide and the beaches of Bean Creek, provide great time of refreshment. Age-appropriate high adventures such as the flying squirrel, zipline, and Geronimo swing are there to challenge and be conquered. A trip to the beach in Santa Cruz, walks to the Fountain and other options make each day unique. At Victory Circle, the group enjoys community singing and hilarious skits, meaningful dramas, campfires, s’mores and sharing times. Here amongst the redwoods God works to transform lives.

All camps will conclude on Saturday following our Victory Circle celebration which begins at 9:00am concluding by 9:40am. Parents are invited to attend the final Victory Circle time (9am) for a glimpse of your child’s week at camp. It is essential that campers be picked up promptly by 9:40am on Saturday.

Written Mail for Campers

Written mail is encouraged as receiving letters from home is important to youngsters away at camp.  Letters should emphasize the interesting things the child is doing at camp, rather than too much reminder of home, illnesses of family or pets, being missed, etc.

To ensure that letters are received on time, we find the best idea is to bring them to camp with you and give them to our host to deliver during the week.

If you need to mail your letters please remember to mail these letters before the start of camp, or on the Monday or Tuesday of that week.  Late arriving mail will be returned to the sending address.

ADDRESS MAIL: Camper's Name, Redwood Camp, Box 413, Mount Hermon, CA 95041

SPECIAL NOTE ON PARCELS TO CAMPERS.  New in summer 2019, we are asking parents to no longer drop off or send any parcels or packages for your student at camp this year. We also ask that you no longer send additional food items in your students luggage to camp. This is due to several reasons: the camp provides a balanced diet, including desserts, each day for the entire week. In addition, there is a daily scheduled snack bar time for children to purchase a drink, candy and/or ice cream. The third and most important reason is the increase in the variety and range of allergies that children enter our camp community with, creating increased concern for unintended allergic reactions.

Birthdays can still be honored with arrangements made ahead of time with the RWC Administrative Lead.

Thank you for complying with this request to help keep Redwood Camp safe and caring for all students. You can contact Naomie Bragado, Director of Children's Ministries, with any questions you may have in regard to parcels, either before camp or at check-in on Sunday.
