W e have just finished an amazing summer at Kidder Creek! Close to 1300 kids came and were able to experience an amazing week filled with fun and a renewed connection with their Creator in the middle of His Creation!
Most of the campers, who come to Kidder Creek get to participate in white water rafting down the beautiful Klamath River. Not many camps offer whitewater rafting as a part of who they are and what they do. It’s not just the activity, whitewater rafting is one part of an experience in a uniquely crafted program that leads to a life transformed.
After almost 15 years, we need new rafts
As summer comes to a close, we do have some challenges facing with our whitewater rafting program. Our fleet of rafts is getting older, and they get a lot of use. After 10 to 15 years of heavy use, they aren’t holding air as they should be. Constant maintenance and patching are becoming cost prohibitive, and honestly, we need new rafts. We are looking to replace three of our oldest rafts.
Not only do we have a challenge with our rafts, but part of the fun and experience at the river is being able to provide meals while we’re out on the river. At any point in the summer, we could be providing up to 130 meals for campers at one time. Earlier this summer, our grill and grill trailer that we use to provide those meals were in an accident. We made the adjustments needed, changed our menu, figured out ways around it, but without a new grill and grill trailer, we will not be able to sustain the need for another season.
This is where we need you!
We know your campers had a great summer at Kidder Creek and are probably still telling some of the stories about their experience! Would you be willing to help us raise $20,000 to replace three of our rafts, our grill, and our grill trailer? These elements are critical to a Kidder Creek experience, and with your help, we can ensure that the experience never misses a beat.
We’re at a critical point in raise these funds and stretching those dollars. Since it is the end of the season, purchasing these rafts before October 1 will get us the best discounts before the next summer season.
