Qualifications
What are the requirements for Summer Staff?
We prefer to hire staff who are at least 18 years of age (some positions require staff to be older); who are currently enrolled in a college or university; have had prior ministry experience, and whose life exemplifies the teachings of Christ. Since most of our housing is geared towards single people, preference is given to hiring single staff. However, we do have a very limited amount of housing for married couples with no children.
To qualify for Summer Staff
- Able to reflect Jesus Christ to conferees and staff
- Full-time college student, or high school or recent college graduate.
- Minimum age of 18. Some positions require a higher minimum age.
Staff are expected to work hard, & to take advantage of opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Staff are also expected to work well with people from a variety of cultural and evangelical backgrounds.
I'm not 18 yet, can I still apply?
We usually hire people who are 18 years of age or older. There are a limited number of support staff positions where we are able to hire someone who is 17 years old, who has graduated from high school, and who is able to attend the full week of staff training.
I'm not presently in college, is that okay?
Priority is given to hiring people who are enrolled in a college or university. If you're a recent graduate (within 6 months of June 2008), or if you're planning on returning to school in Fall 2008, feel free to apply. The majority of our summer staff range in age from 18-28. Since living in community is an integral part of the summer staff experience, our preference is to hire staff within this age range.
