Kidder Creek

Just south of the Oregon border, near the town of Yreka, and adjacent to the Marble Mountain Wilderness, is Kidder Creek.

Kidder Creek is Mount Hermon's outdoor camp in northern California. Whitewater rafting and equestrian activities are some of the activities available for campers of all ages.. Week-long sessions are offered from mid-June to mid-August.

The staff is made up of 30 college-aged staff, working within three different camps- Ranch Camp, High Adventure, and Wilderness. All staff positions are paid, and include room and board.  Summer staff members also have the opportunity to raise additional support through our Amicus program.

There are 3 different camps at Kidder Creek:

High Adventure Camp at Timberline
Timberline is for elementary, middle school, and high school-age students. For elementary (junior) camp, activities include riflery, swimming, crafts, and group games. During junior high and senior high camps, campers spend days doing high ropes, off-site rock climbing, and 2 days of  whitewater rafting.

Ranch Camp
Ranch Camp centers around horsemanship skills, from beginners to advanced campers. Counselors do NOT need to have horse experience, but should be comfortable around horses, hardworking, and ready to grow in their riding skills.

Wilderness/Whitewater Camp
Wilderness/Whitewater camps take participants into the wilderness of the Marble Mountains, and the waters of the Klamath River. Activities include backcountry camping, rock climbing, high ropes course, and whitewater rafting.

Leadership staff will generally stay at one camp all summer, while counselors and other staff will rotate through several camps. There may be times during the summer where counselors are given the option to rotate into a non-counseling position for a week.
