Upwards of 1000 children, teens, and adults come to Mount Hermon each week for a variety of reasons. For some the initial draw is the wealth of activities. For others, a slower pace of life. Common to all is a desire to belong to a community where the great themes and truths of Scripture come alive in ways that can only be experienced while in community. This summer 175 college students will enter into community at one of our five summer ministry areas: Conference Center, Kidder Creek, Ponderosa Lodge, Echo or Redwood Camp. Something remarkable happens when you combine a relationship with Christ along with service and community ... you come to know who you are. New! for Summer Staff 2008 2008 marks the first year of a new program in the vein of Echo. This summer at the Conference Center we will initiate the Amata program. More information on this exciting new opportunity will be available soon. Don't forget! Summer Staff can now raise additional support (in addition to receiving a weekly salary) through our Amicus program. We have revised the method in which salaries and tips are handled at the Santa Cruz sites. Please visit the FAQ Salary page to find out more.

For many college students community has become a fleeting, and increasingly virtual, experience. An hour or two at a Saturday night or Sunday morning service ... a weekly small group ... exchanging text messages ... blogs replacing conversations.
