Action Ministries Update

Mount Hermon highly values the contributions of our many volunteers who serve directly with the staff to improve the facilities, provide outstanding service to our guests and contribute unique combinations of experience, maturity and knowledge to a broad range of tasks and projects.

In 2007, volunteers donated over 14,000 hours of their time and service to the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ at Mount Hermon.  But, we can use even more volunteers, and would encourage you to think and pray about joining this vital part of our “staff.”

There are three parts to the program:

  1. Groups:
In 2007, we hosted 13 short term mission trip groups from various churches, schools and Bible Study groups. These groups came from as far away as Manitoba, Canada and as close as Scotts Valley, CA.   Their projects focused on the “to do” list of the Buildings and Grounds Department and involved, primarily, the maintenance, construction and repair of facilities.

  2. Teams:
Our volunteer teams are generally comprised of local folks, who live close enough to join us on a regular basis, and support the ministry by taking responsibility for certain services.  Each team has a leader responsible for organizing work schedules and assigning tasks.

    Currently there are 16 teams:

    • Bulk Mail
    • Mailroom
    • Office Support for Registration
    • DVD duplication
    • Greeters/Seaters
    • First Night Hosts
    • Donuts
    • Ice Cream
    • BBQs
    • Offering Counters
    • Auditorium Hosts
    • Conference Center Dining Support
    • Hymn Sing Dining Support
    • Ponderosa Dining Support
    • Print Shop
    • Summer Table Setting Sundays
  3. Individuals:
There are many volunteers with unique training or skills who offer their services to Mount Hermon as individuals.  As architects, civil engineers, master carpenters, electricians, plumbers, contractors, nurses, doctors, lawyers, they are able to offer their services as volunteers through this unique partnership and fellowship of like-minded professionals.

Volunteering at Mount Hermon
For those of you who have a heart to serve, we will be happy to host you one day or several as you become a volunteer for "the King" here at Mount Hermon.

If you as an individual or a group are interested in volunteering your time and services, please contact Ann Paulsen, 831-430-1201 or by email at volunteer@mhcamps.org
