In 1969 Mount Hermon developed the ministry of Ponderosa Lodge to specifically reach the heart of a high school student. The summer of love ('69) was definitely not a time where youth and adults communicated well with each other, understood each other, or reached out to each other. Ponderosa Lodge was progressive and passionate in reaching youth then, and is even more so today. Our goal is to create a place so marked with creativity, community, love and grace that students are transformed into the likeness of our Savior. Mount Hermon's mission has always been to proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior, teach the authoritative Word of God, and serve His Church in our nation and throughout the world. Ponderosa Lodge in the Santa Cruz Mountains
Ponderosa Lodge is nestled amongst the Ponderosa Pines and Redwood trees of the Santa Cruz mountains only a few miles from the beautiful northern California beaches. Distinct programs for junior and senior high students allow students to experience great activities like paintball and board sports from surfing to skateboards. Outstanding worship times and great speakers are highlights, but the intimate community is what it’s all about. Service opportunities, time for friendships, and time with God in our sacred space are waiting for you. Up on the summit
Wreathed with rare Ponderosa pines and native oaks, Ponderosa Lodge is the junior high, high school, college and single adult ministry facility. As an architectural award winner, the Lodge blends naturally with the mountain setting. Accommodations Cabins are heated, carpeted and have full bathrooms. Guests sleep on built-in bunk beds. For Speakers and leadership staff, there are four guest rooms, each with private bath. Facilities and Grounds  The Forum provides central meeting space with baby grand piano, sound system & stone fireplace. Seating is on carpeted, terraced steps. The Fireside Lounge has a fireplace, couches, and tables. The game room offers ping-pong & pool. Additional meeting rooms are available. The Fountain has vending machines and tables.
