This summer, thousands of campers have already come to experience an incredible week of Family Camp at the Conference Center. Families come from literally all over the country because they know that when they are here, they will encounter Jesus and experience life transformation.

Continued from Alumni Newsletter:

This summer our theme verse comes from Psalm 145:18, “The Lord is near to all who call on him.” Each day families explore a different aspect of the significance of God’s nearness to us. On Monday they learn that God is indeed close to each and every one of us. Because of his omnipresent nature, he is literally all around us! On Tuesday they see how we can have confidence in knowing that he is close. On Thursday families look at the Lord’s Prayer and how we can draw even nearer to our God and Father by talking with him. Finally on Friday, they learn about God’s affection for and desire to be near to us, looking at the stories of Jesus letting the children come to him, and later healing a man of leprosy.

Each day families enjoy an inter-generational time in the Auditorium that includes a skit emphasizing the day’s theme. This year we are in the medieval kingdom of Hermalot, where Lady Helena, the kingdom’s historian, is desperately trying to whip the kingdom into shape for the arrival of the King. She doesn’t realize that the whole time the king is much nearer than she thinks. He is dressed as a peasant and spending his time helping the people of the kingdom rather than spending his time in the castle.

Our hope and prayer is that families will walk away not only understanding that God is near to them, but truly experiencing his nearness. Please join us in praying for the thousands of family campers that are still to come over the next 6 weeks!
