Before Getting to Camp

  • Get Fit for Camp!

This camp is a step up from the Wilderness Ascent program that introduced you to wilderness and river travel. At Wilderness Summit you will be traveling farther and higher as you push yourself to new heights both physically and spiritually.

We strongly encourage you to get out and be active leading up to camp so you can best enjoy the adventures of this camp. On one day of Summit you will backpack over 10 miles! Walking or hiking, biking and running are great ways to get fit and ready for camp. We recommend at least three times a week for six weeks leading up to camp.

  • Packing List

In order to make sure that the backpacking and rafting experience is the best for your camper and since we will be in a wilderness setting for 3 of the days we require the following items for wilderness camp. Your camper will be carrying all that he needs for 3 days on his back so be sure to think minimally and pack with lightweight items.
