Topher grew up in Northern California, attending Mount Hermon every summer since 1996. He later served on summer staff as a Day Camp counselor under the camp name Spiff. Topher and his wife Kelly have two adventurous sons, Parker and Chase. After gaining experience working in ministry, marketing and fundraising, Topher felt the call to serve at Mount Hermon. Topher shares, “If we haven’t met, I hope we can soon. I would love to hear your Mount Hermon story. It’s incredible to think of all God has accomplished since 1906 when a faithful few said “yes” to His call. Let’s look forward with expectation at what He will do today!”
J.R. grew up in Delaware, Ohio, coming to the west coast to attend Westmont College in 1978. J.R. and his wife Laurie have three grown sons, each married with one granddaughter: Georgia Rose Loofbourrow and one grandson Jack Walter Loofbourrow. After a 15-year career in the financial services industry in Southern California, J.R. answered the Lord’s call to serve on Mount Hermon’s Advancement Team in 1997. J.R. shares: “I love serving at Mount Hermon and believe it to be a high calling. Far too often donors never get beyond transactional giving. We help them prayerfully consider making transformational gifts, which the Lord uses to grow their faith and change the world!”
Santa Cruz became “home” to Kerry in 1980 and the Lord brought her to Mount Hermon in January 1998. She has served on the Advancement team throughout her tenure. Kerry feels privileged to serve in the greater ministry and specifically with the incredibly loving and generous givers who support the Kingdom work here.
Her immediate and extended family live in Oklahoma where she visits as often as possible.
Kerry is passionate about Jesus, her family and friends, cooking, reading, riding my bike, and growing into the woman God created me to be. Without a doubt, my life story in great part will be defined by my time and life at Mount Hermon. Kerry says, “The Mount Hermon relationships God has blessed me with have forever changed my life.”
I joined the Mount Hermon staff as the Director of Adult Ministries the beginning of 2007 after being in pastoral ministry for many years.
I love the mission here and seeing what the Lord has done and continues to do in the life of our conferees! After nearly 17 years in our program ministry, I was invited to join the Advancement Team as the Director of Strategic Partnerships. I love seeing, hearing and inviting people to consider their passions for furthering the Kingdom work here at the “Herm”. I have had the privilege to see my own children and now my grandchildren blossom in their faith through the Lord’s work here.
My role is serving individuals as well as churches, para-church ministries, college and universities and military families. Inviting them to see what we can do collectively as partners for Christ is a joy!
Married to my amazing wife Leslie, we have 8 children between us and 13 grandchildren!
