A Summer Refocused

at Mount Hermon

To our Summer 2020 Guests,

I am deeply saddened to tell you that Mount Hermon must be closed for the entire summer in all four of our sites— Conference Center, Ponderosa Lodge, Redwood Camp, and Kidder Creek. This breaks my heart, as I’m sure it does yours.

On Monday, April 20, we received word from the County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency that we will not be allowed to have campers at Mount Hermon in any capacity this summer due to the COVID-19 spread. Although greatly saddened, our Board of Directors and Trustees believe that the County is acting in the best interest of people and their health, which goes along with Mount Hermon’s longstanding efforts to ensure a healthy environment for all campers and staff.

Below you will find helpful information with regards to your registration and deposit.

God has been faithful to Mount Hermon for 114 years, and that’s certainly not going to stop now. We will miss you more than you will ever know and are already looking forward to Summer 2021! Know that we love you and will be praying for you as you process this disappointment. We’ll get through this together, and we’ll be back together soon.

With much love (and some tears),

Mike Romberger

To our Fall 2020 and beyond Guests,

We know these are challenging times and that it is difficult to make plans for the future. At this point our plan is to operate fall programs if there are no bans on large group gatherings, no travel restrictions are in place, and medical experts determine it is reasonable to gather together with safety protocols in place. Our highest priority is to care for the health and safety of our guests, staff and communities. In the meantime, we are adding to our already significant health and safety protocols as we prepare for future operations.

Thank you, and until we can welcome you back to our camps our prayers are for your health and safety.
