Our Mission

To proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior, teach the authoritative Word of God, and serve His church in our nation and throughout the world.

Founded in 1906 as the first Christian Camp west of the Mississippi our founders had a vision to share Jesus with a broken and hurting world. This original vision is alive and well at Mount Hermon today and is expressed in our Cornerstones.

Our Cornerstones

Evangelism

We proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Discipleship

We teach God's Word as authoritative and transformational.

Partnership

We serve Christ's Church locally and globally.

Engagement

We immerse people in God's creation and beauty.

Family

We provide avenues for families to grow closer to God and one another.

Mount Hermon

Statement of Beliefs

  1. We believe in the verbal and complete inspiration by God of the original writings of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
  2. We believe in God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.
  4. We believe the Holy Spirit is God, at work in the world to execute all divine activity and, especially, to reveal Jesus Christ and to glorify Him.
  5. We believe man was created in the image of God and is loved by Him, but through sinful inheritance and choice, is alienated, separated from God and under His righteous judgment.
  6. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a substitutionary and complete sacrifice, and that all who repent and believe in Him are justified, wholly apart from human merit and works, on the ground of His shed blood and resurrection.
  7. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate.
  8. We believe in the second, visible and personal coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to establish His worldwide Kingdom on the earth.
  9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the saved and the everlasting separation from God of the unsaved.
  10. We believe all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and members of the body of Christ, the one true Church, whose life is visibly expressed wherever even two or three are gathered together in Christ’s name.
  11. We believe the Christian life is not a reformation, but a transformation, in which Christ Himself relives His life through the believer’s whole being. Such a life will be pre-eminently characterized by love, truth and purity.
  12. We believe the Church is commissioned to evangelize the world by proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord, and by living as His servants among men.

Bryan grew up in the Rocky Mountains in Littleton, CO and made the move to Mount Hermon as a senior in High School (and still counting the years). Mount Hermon was a place his family would enjoy over the years beginning at age six. Throughout the college years, he worked each summer on summer staff at Ponderosa Lodge and fell in love with serving Jesus Christ in a camp setting. These formative years had such an impact on his life that after an initial career in business, felt God’s call into full-time camping ministry in 1992 and served as the Director of Marketing at Mount Hermon. Prior to returning to Mount Hermon in his current role overseeing finance, human resources, facilities, and business administration in 2016, Bryan served as Executive Director of Mission Springs Camps and Conference Center for 18 years. Bryan is married to his camp sweetheart Patty and have two grown children, Kristin and Carter.

Becky Borst

Becky's journey into the world of camping started at a young age through Willow Creek’s Camp Paradise, nestled in the picturesque Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This early exposure sparked a profound love for creation and developed into a passion for camp ministry. In 2011, Becky answered the call to serve on summer staff at Kidder Creek. This experience proved transformative, solidifying her commitment to use her gifts to grow God’s kingdom. Post-graduation from Azusa Pacific University, she expanded her horizons by joining the staff of Mount Hermon’s Outdoor Science School. Over two enriching seasons, Becky embraced the diverse opportunities at Mount Hermon and discovered that the reach of camp extends far beyond a summer experience. In 2019, drawn back to the familiar grounds of Kidder Creek, Becky took on the role of an apprentice, further deepening her connection to Mount Hermon. Her journey continued to unfold, and in 2021, she embraced a new challenge, joining the Guest Services team at the Santa Cruz Mountains campus. Today, Becky is grateful to have established roots in Santa Cruz and to serve the mission of facilitating experiences where guests are able to have their lives transformed by Jesus.
